About Helen
Hi! I’m Helen, the founder of Beauty Etc I’ve been in the beauty industry for over 30 years, and I still love it!
My skincare story ...
Throughout my teen years and my early 20s I was a surf lifesaver and spent my summer months in the sun and surf which started to age my skin very quickly. It became dry, freckly and felt rough. When I started a receptionist/finishing course I learnt some basics in skincare and noticed the changes I was making made a huge improvement to my skin. Being fair, I started getting lash tints and some other beauty treatments. The fire was lit.

After a few years working as a public servant I realised it wasn’t the career path I wanted to follow so I decided to go back to college and get my Diploma of Beauty Therapy. I felt drawn to this industry and the possibility of helping people feel more confident and happy within themselves.
My career in the beauty industry ...
I worked in various salons for a number of years before opening up my own business. I also spent many years teaching beauty therapy courses at a registered training organisation, I love having the opportunity to teach people how to better look after their skin.
These days I split my time between running Beauty Etc and training other beauty therapists as the head trainer for the professional cosmeceutical skincare ranges, Janssen Cosmetics and Inspira Cosmetics.

The beauty industry is constantly evolving and I make it my mission to stay up to date with the latest advances in skincare. I regularly feed my thirst for knowledge by completing courses and attending seminars. In doing so I know I can help my clients achieve the best positive outcome possible with regards to their skin and other beauty concerns.
